Everyone Wants to Start a Side Hustle… But What Really Is One?
We’re talking starting a side hustle today. What exactly they are, why they aren’t as easy as they sound, and how to get started.
A side hustle is something you do for people on the side. It’s a part-time gig. Five to ten hours a week, maybe more, that brings in an extra $500-$1000 per month. It’s not that you just lost your job and need to make income. This is something you’re passionate about.
I’ve seen a lot of people who start side hustles fail because their expectation was that it was going to hit right away. It isn’t going to be easy, but here is a quick formula to help:
- You have to have a great idea.
- There has to be a problem to solve.
- You need one of two things to make it work: money or time.
For example, you can get a business up and rolling, but if you didn’t put in the time to build an audience, you’re not going to have anyone to buy from you.
Once you build that audience, you have to build trust with them. Give results in advance and show value. One of the ways you can show value is to answer people’s questions for free. That’s how I started LeBauer Consulting. I helped people online with their questions and realized I could turn it into a business.
The bigger the problem you can solve, the more revenue you will bring in and the bigger impact you will have.
